William Ellery American Chestnut Club Jacket

The ACC is our series of events and lectures by a diverse cohort of scientists, authors, filmmakers, and conservationists. A meeting for those who want to live deliberately, and get the most out of life.

This jacket represents a commitment to the ideals of William Ellery, to assist and advance scientific exploration and research, preserve geographical and ecological diversity, improve resource conservation, and responsibly protect the human instinct to explore.

We ask that only those who can commit to those ideals purchase this jacket.

The ACC jacket is dark olive Pima cotton, made here in New York. Since this is an organization for those interested in learning about our earth, we made them in the traditional style of farming club jackets.

Traditional farming club jackets have a few drawbacks. One they are made for children, so the sizing is on the smaller side, and two, they are sewn to be grown out of.

We decided to beef up the construction to be less industrial, and add a paperback pocket to both sides of the internal chest. The zipper and trims are high polish brass, to complement the sharp, semi-formal cropped cut. The large waistband can be cinched with dual side adjusters.

Measurements are taken with the garment laying flat, externally. The chest is measured pit to pit, sleeves are measured from center back to cuff, and length is from center back neck to bottom hem. Shoulders are measured from seam to seam, laid flat, across the back.

Model is 6'4" wearing a large.

Small: Chest 22" Length 22.75" Sleeve 34" Shoulder 18"

Medium: Chest 23" Length 23.5" Sleeve 35" Shoulder 18.5""

Large: Chest 24" Length 24" Sleeve 35.75" Shoulder 19"

XLarge: Chest 24.5" Length 24.5" Sleeve 36.5" Shoulder 19.5"

Corduroy jackets should be professionally cleaned, and never ironed to preserve the longevity of the wales. However, we believe these should be steamed between wears, hung up to air dry and rarely washed. If you do choose to wash them at home, they can be washed in the machine, but there will be a touch of shrinkage.
