William Ellery Lichen Socks are on ongoing research project of technical hosiery.
Socks are made in small batches, and may only be produced once.
Frog dogs are a study of the human anatomy in relation to hosiery, as a part of the larger Black Frog Experiment. These socks are technical and made for the field.
Green Frog Dogs are made of an incredibly bouncy green wool, that required loose knitting. These will arrive pre-washed, and will be a bit large out of the package, but after the first wash and wear they ill shrink down to size.
These socks include padding on your ankle with the bones most protrude, but have a crumple zone to allow for flexing. Both the medial and lateral side of the foot are lined with dots, that act as pathways for air with each step, with your arch acting as a bellow.
A terry strip that lines the back of the sock allows for blister protection, no matter what height the shoe you wear is.
All of the technical details of the sock are hidden when you are wearing a sock, leaving only the refined line of the rear terry strip.
